Cyberpunk at Whole Foods, chiral risks, the "Golden Age" of 20th century science and technology...
I’ve recovered from my cold, finally, although I am continually amazed at how much “schedule compression” happens when there is something that causes one to have a bit less efficiency than usual. But I’ve finished most of my teaching, and once I get a few other miscellaneous tasks done, can slide into a bit of a winter break, and so that’s an attractive idea.

One of the places I do grocery shopping is a Whole Foods Market in Weehawken that has a few electric-vehicle charging stations in front of it, each of which have large screens that are used for advertisements. I was amused that one of them was malfunctioning severely, adding a glitched aesthetic to one of those inane Tik-Tok-style attention-grabbing “craft” advertisements that seems to be so common these days. It had a very cyberpunk, Blade Runner feel to it:
I didn’t manage to get a main post up this week — the end of classes has been just one thing after another, and I figured that rather than rush something out, I’d just push it back a week. So there will be at least one thing of interest next week.
